The Kontron® 933 spectrophotometer equipped with an UV source combines an integrating sphere and a monochromatic light able to deliver a flow of energy between 290 and 400 nanometers.
This spectrophotometer is used for in vitro sunscreen testing and it measures light transmittance values at 1 nanometer intervals.
During the broad spectrum in vitro test, polymethylmethacrylate plates (PMMA, 5×5 cm, roughness of 4-5 micrometers) are pre-irradiated with the Suntest®Atlas CPS+ simulator with standard filters.
All devices are calibrated according to international guidelines, thus the recommended UV spectrum specifications are respected.
